I've done 3 full playthroughs and my favorite build with Hero is Greatswords until you get Unbridled Blade. I just prefer some over others. I think for where you are in the game, you should stick to Greatswords, because you will be finding Quadraslash in the near future for hitting the field, and you will still be able to use heavy-hitting single-target stuff like Unbridled Blade and Sword Dance.
